Beaufort initiative gets $25K grant— STEPHEN FASTENAU
A Beaufort technology and job-growth initiative received another boost recently when the city was awarded a grant by a state organization representing local government.
The Municipal Association of South Carolina awarded Beaufort a $25,000 grant aimed at implementing an economic development project “that will make a positive impact on the quality of life” in Beaufort. The Beaufort Digital Corridor, a project to attract and grow technology-related business and high-paying jobs to the city, will use the money toward operating expenses.
The Digital Corridor is expected to open at the end of November in a space on 500 Carteret St.
The Beaufort Digital Corridor also received a $150,000 grant from Hargray.
