22 April marks twenty years in business for Paper Chaser Biz LLC. A milestone. Day 1 seems like yesterday.
Over the past twenty years as a solopreneur providing online office support to service-based professionals, I’ve learned that success is built as much on relationships and adaptability as it is on technical skill. Early on, I thought efficiency and flawless systems were the most important things I could offer, but experience showed me that listening carefully, communicating clearly, and truly understanding each client’s workflow are what create lasting partnerships. I’ve learned to set boundaries that protect both my time and my clients’ expectations, to continually refine processes as technology evolves, and to stay flexible when businesses inevitably grow or pivot. Perhaps the most valuable lesson has been that behind every task—whether developing a newsletter, document management, or project coordination—there is a person trusting me to help their work run smoothly, and honoring that trust with reliability and professionalism is what sustains a small business over the long term.
Time flies when you’re having fun!
Two best practices for solopreneurs:
(1) focus on today
(2) have a plan for tomorrow
